If you saw me mall hopping this week you’d recognize a tad bigger smile spread across my face. Not to mention the spring in my step. There's a really good reason for it.
In the midst of looking for my Highness Tina for this look, I open a box that had been sitting at the very top of a cabinet in my closet and what a pleasant surprise I found - these beautiful brown boots with straps that go on for miles, still wrapped in tissue held in place with a glistening silver sticker staring me in the face. A case of buried treasure. Would have been so much better had they been Louboutins. LOL. I quickly looked through every shoe box. Non was spared as I searched away in hopes of more surprises.
You know I was tickled pink. I did a little dance as I tried them on. If I ever doubted having a very slight shoe addiction, this was my confirmation. I vaguely remember seeing them, wanting them and purchasing them a good 10 to 15 or so years ago. Way back when my friend Juaneta and I used to walk in the Bebe new collection fashion shows. I’ve worn them everyday since I discovered them, making up for lost time I guess, lol. The best part is that they still look so darn trendy so I plan on soldiering through the not so cold Cali winter in this beauty. Have you had this experience before? Mind blowing for sure. Another early Christmas gift. (Did I reveal what the first was? Hmmmmm...) So if you saw me and wondered why my smile was bigger, now you know why.
As I keep cleaning out my closet in search of cold weather essentials, staples that have been in the back burner have all seen the light of day. Old pieces and new ones alike, mixed and matched to create chic and trendy street looks. And yes most of them had some bright popping color in the mix. I recommit to my determination to have a colorful fall/winter, hehe. Who's with me on that?
Todays look is actually inspired by the look I put together around a gold Rolex watch by Invaluable. By the way, have you stopped by their web site yet? You definitely should, some of those unique and hard to find luxury pieces won’t be there forever. I stomped around in my newly discovered boots while swinging my tote bag and staying warm and cozy in this lovely trench in a summery hue. A pair of distressed jeans completed the look.
So what are your thoughts on this street chic style?
