3 Ways I Styled These $50 Utility Pants With Basics and Thrifted Pieces I Already Had in My Closet - POPSUGAR

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times: I love a good outfit repeat. Whether it's a head-to-toe look or a single piece worn multiple ways, the more wear, the better, in my opinion. My recent repeats include a pretty puff-sleeve dress, a black jumpsuit, and a printed slip skirt styled in various ways for the cold. Now that it's January and we're past the holiday hoopla, I'm moving on to some of the latest 2020 trends, starting with the utilitarian look by way of these Utility Paperbag Pants ($50) from the POPSUGAR collection at Kohl's.

First fact: they're incredibly flattering. With a high-rise paperbag waist and self-tie belt, they're perfectly cinchable with any sort of top tucked in. Second fact: they're super soft and lightweight — quite ideal for caressing one's own leg/transitioning seasons. Third fact: the utilitarian factor is subtle, but sleek; two patch pockets sit right under the waist while a single cargo pocket lines the right leg. Fourth and final fact: they come in two utilitarian-esque colors — a fawn-like khaki and jet black — plus a floral print when the mood skews more feminine.

With such winning attributes, I put myself up to the challenge of styling these modern cargos three different ways. And not only that, I leveled up the challenge by doing so with basics, vintage, and thrifted pieces I already had in my wardrobe (after a major decluttering and reorganization of my apartment ahead of the new year, I'm so excited to "shop" my closet and give love to more pieces I already own!).

Witness my easy-to-replicate combos that feature the $50 POPSUGAR Utility Paperbag Pants from the January collection ahead, starting with a Pernille Teisbaek-inspired look I've been dying to try since she posted the #OOTD five days ago. Not only can you then shop each of my looks head to toe, but also I included similar versions of the pieces I wore from online resale shops and affordable retailers. My 2020 outfit mantra? Style, wear, repeat.

Ralph Lauren removes pants that jacked The Sigmas' letters - TheGrio

Ralph Lauren tried it.

The upscale clothing giant attempted to sell a pair of chinos adorned with the Phi Beta Sigma Greek letters on its French site until Watch the Yard got word of it. The site rallied the Greek fraternity and other Divine 9 members to reach out to Ralph Lauren and ask them to remove the garment. The chino pants, which reportedly cost $335.77, featured the Greek letters on the top of the knee.

The public campaign appears to have worked and now a Ralph Lauren spokesperson is apologizing.

"The use of these symbols on our products was an oversight for which we deeply apologize. We are immediately taking action to remove the product from our sales channels. While we have a rigorous review process in place for all of our designs, this has prompted us to take another review of our protocols to help ensure that this does not happen again," the company said in a statement, according to Watch the Yard.

"As an American brand with more than 50 years of heritage, Ralph Lauren is inspired by many facets of American culture. As part of this, we are firmly committed to respectful and appropriate use of all cultural icons and insignias," the statement adds.

The company ended the note by stating that "the chinos will be removed from all sales channels" and that they have reached out to Phi Beta Sigma to inform them.

Watch the Yard, a media company that covers the Black college experience, first reported the story on Monday. According to the organization's website, within three hours of the story running, Ralph Lauren had issued a statement and vowed to pull the pants from its shelves, which illustrates the power of unity and determination.

Watch the Yard celebrated its successful campaign on Instagram.

"Earlier today we published a story about pants, which are being sold for 299.99€ on Ralph Lauren's site with Phi Beta Sigma printed on them. Within three hours of us reporting on the story, an official Ralph Lauren spokesperson reached out to Watch The Yard and told us that they are taking the pants off of all sales channels and gave us an exclusive statement explaining themselves," they captioned the post.

Divine 9 Greeks also shared their excitement for the achievement.

"Watch The Yard y'all got RALPH LAUREN a major brand to take down a product internationally in less that 3 hours?! Y'all really are out here advocating for Black greekdom! This platform is so powerful and needed. Keep up the good work! #keepprotectingtheculture #WatchTheYardIsForThePeople," wrote sofreshnupe_.

"This platform is important and necessary! Great work!!!!" added limitededitionxxv.

The Ultimate Men's Pants Style Guide - Types of Trousers for Men - Men's Health

SHOPPING FOR PANTS can be a tedious, borderline painful experience. Even for fashion editors, finding the right pair of comfortable, flattering trousers can feel like an endless search with many, many visits to fitting rooms—and who has time for that? And if you do find a pair of pants that seem to fit, chances are they won't be the most comfortable option in your closet. Sure, sweatpants have technically been deemed acceptable to wear outside the gym, but a grown man can't avoid those important occasions—business meetings, weddings, and holiday events—when it's time to clean up with a sharp look below the belt.

We know the struggle and we're here with a solution. The Men's Health style team found a number of menswear brands with sleek styles that have a hint of stretch. Finally, you can buy chinos and dress pants that have an attractive slim fit with flexibility for comfort. And best of all, it won't cost you a fortune to score a pair.

To put these top-notch pants to the test, we enlisted the help of four Men's Health readers. Wherever their day takes them, our group of guys need stylish pants that'll look great from morning-to-night and all them to move with ease.

For work, weekends, and everything in between, these chinos, cargos, dress pants, and jeans have you covered for every style flex—no fitting room required.

THESE AREN'T YOUR grandpa's chinos. They're slim, stretchy, and look great on men of any age. Worried about your muscular thighs and calves? Four-way stretch keeps your pants looking sharp, not silly. Put on a little winter weight? The flexible waistband is seriously forgiving. From Sunday Funday to swanky soirées, a good pair of chinos has the versatility to replace just about any pair of pants in your closet.

CARGOS ARE COOL again, folks. By adding utilitarian pockets to slim-fit wool trousers, it creates a rugged elegance that's hard to achieve. Sporty details like elasticized cuffs add some extra cool factor while you make moves comfortably, thanks to the help of a little Lycra.

BEHOLD, THE PERFECT jeans to wear to the office. A dark indigo wash keeps your look polished, while the tiniest bit of stretch makes them comfortable to go from office hours to happy hour. Stretch denim is nothing new, but choosing the right option is still a tricky situation; too much stretch can make your jeans lose their shape and look sloppy by five 'o clock. Levi's remains a trusted source for the best denim duds to hug your legs in just the right place, without suffocating them.

YES, DRESS PANTS can be comfortable. Forget those stiff, boxy trousers you've encountered and meet the new crop of slim dress slacks with stretch to hit the scene. You'll never have to worry about being uncomfortable while sitting, or worse, ripping your pants when you bend over. We're not suggesting you hit the gym in these dress pants, but you should level-up your everyday style and give your go-to jeans a breather by sporting these bad boys during your active day. Whether you're wearing a tailored blazer or just a simple tee, these pants have the power to take your look from bland to Bond status.

Man's pants catch on fire inside Bremerton WinCo - Kitsap Sun

BREMERTON — A man's pants caught on fire in the restroom of a WinCo Foods on Tuesday afternoon, according to Bremerton Fire.

Bremerton Fire Lt. Jeff Prichard said firefighters responded to a possible burn injury incident around 1:20 p.m. at the West Bremerton grocery store.

"On arrival we found a gentleman in the restroom who had his clothes catch on fire (and) had some significant burns on his legs," Prichard said. The man, who is in his 60s, was transported to Harrison Medical Center.

The man told firefighters that his lighter exploded and caused his pants to catch fire, said Prichard, though he's not sure about the details. WinCo employees told responders that another person grabbed a fire extinguisher off the wall and sprayed the man.

Bremerton Fire Marshal Mike Six said he's investigating the incident, though it doesn't appear to involve a crime.

"He told us his pants caught on fire and his pants clearly caught on fire," Six said.
